Dess
Dess Coleman (they/them) is a 22-year-old SEN tutor and teaching assistant, and a course facilitator at Stabilis CIC.
Growing up with undiagnosed ASD, Dess knows what it’s like to feel like something makes you different from other people, and the difficulties of navigating educational and social spaces without support or understanding.
Using their experiences, alongside training in various types of neurodivergence and an Msc in Psychology, Dess aims to build more inclusive practices in their own work with neurodiverse children and teenagers.
This means no assumptions, and no one-size-fits-all approach; instead they always practice person-centered, individualised learning, tailored to meet educational needs however they might present.
They hope to bring these skills to Stabilis CIC, to support engagement with the arts and with creativity for everyone.
